Jasmyn Clark, sometimes acting under BABYSPIDER, is an Atlanta-born and based unfolding mixed media artist. By inciting her artistic career with self-taught photography and painting, she earned the opportunity to briefly study nothing in particular at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Upon returning to her home base, she was uninspired by the buzzing underground artwork being done, only being undermined by mainstream representation. The synonymous theme of youth nightlife culture, that is unique to every city sheβs shot, is what inspires her documentary-style film photography. Her exploration of Atlantaβs youth culture aims to bring a more refined narrative to the underground movements, earning the respect of the mainstream who ignores them, and exposing the truth that keeps the city alive. She employs her photography, unauthorized street art, music, and painting to bridge the gap between the emerging and the established.
